Forget about the rules!

Fashion month is on and as the models stroll down the runways in one european fashion capital after the other, a new mini trend is taking shape on the jewellery scene. What before was faux pas is now hotter than hot!

And what are we talking about?  We are talking about how you choose your earrings next season. Forget about the rules of the perfect pair. Mix it up and go for everything asymmetrical – literally. Not just an asymmetrical pair, no we are talking different earrings. Different in shapes, colours, lengths, materials – just go wild, its trendy!

Don’t believe us? Take it from the top notch designers of the moment then. We have proof from the catwalks.

Who do you want to be today?

The fashion crowd has moved on to Paris where the editors are busy snapping up next seasons must haves. However, we still can´t forget about the humorous award winning jewellery designer that we fell in love with at London fashion week.

London-based Frances Wadsworth Jones is part of Rock Vault, the prestigious initiative to ‘showcase and promote Britain’s, most innovative fine jewellery talent’, organised by the British Fashion Council and curated by Stephen Webster MBE.

Who do you want to be today?
Frances Wadsworth Jones invites you to pick your character.

Introverted muso playfully re-imagines the classic pearl drop necklace as a contemporary portrait. Wear on its own or mix and match with the collection to create your own team.

But who is Frances?
Frances Wadsworth Jones founded her eponymous jewellery label in 2008 after graduating from London’s prestigious Royal College of Art. She designs with a playfully conceptual and quietly provocative style. Her unique approach blurs the boundaries between Design, Fashion, Art and Luxury – preciousness, humour and an exceptional eye for detail combining to define the award winning designer’s unpredictable yet unmistakable aesthetic.

She loves to turn expectations upside down and find comic relief in the serious world of fine jewellery.

Chantecler boutique_thejewelleryroom

We have spoken to one of the exclusive boutiques in Brera, Chantecler, to find out what are the most exciting pieces of jewellery we can offer our readers for Christmas together with some tips and tricks for Christmas jewellery shopping.

Sleek and modern, the exclusive Chantecler boutique hosts sparkling diamonds and colorful gems to be combined in the most unexpected ways.

At Chantecler, there is little effort put into obtaining the reputation of an exclusive international brand. There is no vanity, no effort wasted in vain. Only good taste, outstanding craftsmanship and respect for tradition and the origins of the company. Being conceived on an island, you’ll see that reflected in every piece of jewellery. “We create jewellery always inspired by the colours and shapes of where we come from” declares Valentina Borri of Chantecler for The Jewellery Room.

For Christmas, Chantecler recommends a Campanella, their iconic piece, in white diamonds pave or in red coral. In their vision, a handmade piece of jewellery, ideally made in Italy, makes for the perfect Christmas gift.

Swarovski outshines all Christmas Trees

Zurich knows how to create a bright and sparkling Christmas spirit. At the center of the main train station, Hauptbahnhof, is a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree. This is no ordinary Tree. This Christmas Tree is sparkling brighter than any other with over 7,000 Swarovski crystal ornaments.

All sparkle-loving girls must be blown away by this glowing winter wonder spirit – at least we know we are.

Swarovski always shines bright especially during the holiday season, but this gimmick is a really cool way for the brand to demonstrate what it does best. Wonder what they are going to do with all the Crystals in January. Making them into earrings perhaps?
