Hasla – contemporary, Norwegian jewelry design
Stylish jewelry with a Scandinavian imprint, often inspired by Norwegian nature, is designed and made in Hasla’s studio in Valle, in the Setesdal Valley.
The local area has rich handcraft traditions, which Hasla has developed and maintained over many years. Hasla designs and makes timeless high quality jewelry based on a simple, stylish and Scandinavian design philosophy.
Handcraft is important to Hasla, and skilled silversmiths of various ages work side by side in the studio. By a combination of old and new techniques, Hasla’s jewelry is given a unique expression. In 2009, Hasla was awarded the Craft Enterprise of the Year prize in Norway.
Hasla was established in 1982 by husband and wife team Grete Fossen and Ørnulf Hasla. At present, Hasla is still a family business, with both daughters involved, Anne Hasla as head designer, and Gunnhild Hasla responsible for marketing.
Hasla’s range of jewelry comprises several collections, from tradition-inspired pieces to contemporary classical and trend jewelry as well as silver for Norwegian local costumes.
It is an aim for Hasla to inspire interest and develop young talent in silversmithing.
Hasla’s jewelry is sold in its brand stores in Oslo and Valle, as well as in jewelry stores across Norway.
