The story of Carré is full of great visions and a love for diamonds and beautiful, precious stones, but it is also an account of unstoppable efforts to make dreams come true.
It all began back in 1991, when Danish/Israeli Shiri Rosenzweig, founded Carré Jewellery. Through family members in Israel working in the diamond industry, Shiri had the opportunity to sell the precious and sought-after stones in Denmark. One step led to the other and soon Shiri developed her passion for the colourful gemstones, pearls and precious stones into jewellery.
We sat down with the 50 year old designer to hear more about her passion for jewellery.
- What is your profession? Jewellery designer plus I have a background with an MBA in Business Administration.
- Why did you choose to become a jewellery designer? Design was always my passion and jewellery focusing on gemstones became my calling.
- Describe the design DNA of Carré Jewellery? Gemstones set in a middle eastern and byzantine jewellery environment.
- What do you dream about? Alway improving my collections and making them ever more inspiring, surprising and seductive.
The third store opening and more in the pipeline is the way forward on the Japanese market for the Danish jewellery brand, Carré jewellery, who this year celebrates their 25th anniversary.Carré introduced the colourful storeconcept in Japan for the first time in 2001 and are now ready to open their third store.
It must not cost life to give life! A new bracelet has come to life in Carré Jewellery’s new collaboration with Maternity Foundation. The bracelet is a celebration of life, to the new life. A lived life. The precious life. And for the life of defiance.
Actor and mother of two, Beate Bille is the ambassador for charity project. Together with her mother and daugther she can hopefully help sharing the message that it must not cost life to give life.
The bracelet pendant is a small envelope with the word LIV (in danish) engraved – as a secret message to remind the bracelet owner to appreciate life.
Maternity Foundation work to save maternal and newborn lives during pregnancy and childbirth in Ethiopia. Every day 800 women during pregnancy and childbirth. The vast majority of these deaths could be prevented if women had access to professional health care during birth. “We are pleased to support Maternity Foundation which provides a formidable effort for women in the most vulnerable situation, namely, when they give life. As a mother of 4 children I know how much this action means” says Shiri Rosenzweig, jewellery designer and founder of Carré .
Carré Jewellery donates 150-170 kr. For each sold bracelet. It comes in two variations sterling silver or goldplated silver.
